Our Last Full Day

So for our last day on our trip we woke up early to go to the Denver US Mint. We took the shuttle downtown where we got tickets to go on the 8am tour. The mint tour was only 30 minutes but we did get to see them making all different kinds of coins as well as learning about the history of how coins have been made.

After the mint we went to breakfast on the 16th Street Mall. After our late breakfast we decided to go see a movie at the theater which was right next door. We saw the movie "Larry Crowne". It was pretty good, but a bit slow. After the movie we went back to the hotel to relax before having to leave in the morning. We ordered Chinese food for dinner and headed to bed early after packing. We will be up bright and early at 5:30am to catch our flight back to Newark at 8:30am.

We hope you have enjoyed reading our blog as much as we have had traveling down the West Coast. It has been a trip to remember and never forget.

Denver Explorations

We started off the day by taking the shuttle downtown. Our first stop was the state capital building. Of course we visited it more for it's architecture and were able to get some good shots of the building and its views. We then walked to the Denver mint to see if we could get tickets for a tour and was given the unfortunate news that we were going to have to be there at 7:30am the following morning to get standby tickets.

Next up was more architecture. We saw the Denver library designed by Michael Graves and the Denver Art museum by Daniel Libskind. In the art museum we saw exhibits of modern art and ancient clay pots (yes exciting we know). We then walked down the 16th street mall to the D&F Tower, a replica of a famous church steeple in Venice. After the tower we headed to the Millenium Bridge. By now it was starting to rain on us and after getting Chipotle to go, we headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow we are going to the mint. Tell you all about it later! Good night.

Vegas to Denver

Today we woke up, quickly packed and headed out to drop the car off. Once we were at the airport and had returned the car, we ate breakfast and almost immediately boarded the plane. The short hour and a half ride went by extremely quick and before we knew we were already in Denver.

We took a cab a half hour to the hotel where we threw our suitcases down and took the hotel shuttle downtown. We went to 16th street which is a pedestrian walk and offers a free bus service up and down the many blocks. We decided to see a movie and after we ate Chipotle for dinner we went to see Bad Teacher. Definitely worth seeing as it really was funny. We went back to the hotel after the movie. Tomorrow we plan on sleeping in and trying to recover a little before having to go back to reality in NJ. We will catch up with you again on Thursday!
