On the Town in Santa Cruz

We woke to a beautiful day in Santa Cruz. We ate breakfast with Aunt Trish and Uncle Eddy, pastries from a local bakery called "The Buttery". We then headed to West Cliff to take Gracie for a walk. It was cool to see all of the surfers and the surfing museum. It was too windy today for us to go surfing, hopefully on Monday we will get a chance to try our luck on the waves.

After our long stroll we all headed to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. We came back to the house, put on a few more layers of clothes, and walked over to the harbor. Uncle Eddy and Aunt Trish made reservations for a beer and pizza sailing cruise on the Chardonnay II. It was really exciting to be on the large sail boat and since it was soo windy it made for a great sail. Seeing Santa Cruz from a different perspective as well as all of the sea lions and seals was really great.

Once we got back to shore all four of us headed downtown for a movie at the Del Mar Movie Theater, an old renovated stage theater from the mid 1900's. We saw "Midnight in Paris" which was pretty good. It was an interesting take on a literary time travel tale. Downtown Santa Cruz is really a happening place with cafes, night clubs and shops.

Tomorrow we hit the skies. Good Night!
