The Skys of Santa Cruz

This morning we woke up to a beautiful breakfast that Uncle Eddy and Aunt Trish had made for us of eggs, sausage, bear claws and coffee. After a very satisfying meal, we headed off to the airport because this morning Uncle Eddy was taking us FLYING!

Once we got to the airfield, we (and by we, we mean Uncle Eddy) checked the plane. The plane is used to teach new pilots how to fly. The two front seats have controls at each of the seats so when we mess up, Uncle Eddy can adjust it. Jacqueline was the first to fly and then Michael. We were able to fly all over Santa Cruz and saw the pier, Uncle Eddy's house, UCSC campus and so much more.

Uncle Eddy let us do everything! (with a ton of guidance of course) We took off, flew and even got to land! The experience of flying just can not be described. It is so amazing how the entire plane is in your control. Uncle Eddy was such an amazing teacher and even through we only touched the surface of everything there is to know, we learned so much. Being extreme dorks, we were so interested in how everything work and Uncle Eddy was really informative and answered every question. Its great to be taught by someone who is so patient and so enthusiastic towards flying.

After we got back from the airport, we had a quick lunch and called home. We were so tired from the airport (flying takes SO MUCH concentration) that we took a quick nap. After we got up we enjoyed a fabulous dinner off the grill (thanks to the grill master Uncle Eddy), we took a walk with Gracie down to the beach. When we returned, we had dessert and watched a little TV. Fingers crossed the weather will be good for surfing tomorrow! Good night!
